Potions are magical mixtures commonly brewed in cauldrons and used to create various effects on the drinker. The class is intended to teach students how to brew potions properly and safely, and to teach them of the affects that potions have on the drinker as well as antidotes to use in situations where they are needed to reverse a potions' effect.

At the end of your third year you MUST choose a career path and it will be tested at the end of your fifth year. The options that include potions are: Auror, Healer, Hit Wizard, Mediwizard/witch, Potioneer, or a Professor of Potions (for this job you must also prepare to be one of the proceeding jobs as well.)

There will be 4 lessons each year and a final.
For 5th years this is the OWLs, which evaluates you on whether or not you will MAKE it into the job you wish.
For 7th years this is the NEWTs, which is your final examination at Hogwarts.
