Ancient Runes Syllabus and Sign Up Sheet

Ancient Runes is the study of magical runic scriptures and you will learn the art of runic spell casting. You will not have use of your wands for this class as all spell casting will be done through the runes. Ancient Runes is more of a theoretical class, so you've been thoroughly warned.

At the end of your third year you MUST choose a career path and it will be tested at the end of your fifth year.

Career options for Ancient Runes include the following:
~ Curse Breaker
~ Unspeakable
~ Spell Inventor

If you wish to be a Ancient Runes Professor, you must have completed the subject four years prior to graduation in your seventh year.

There will be 4 lessons each year and a final.
For 5th years this is the OWLs, which evaluates you on whether or not you will MAKE it into the job you wish.
For 7th years this is the NEWTs, which is your final examination at Hogwarts.

Homework
Most of the time homework will be fairly simple. I would give you a text and you will be asked to translate it from the runes sheet I will give you at the start of the first class. All rune translations will be taken from that.
