It is late in the summer, and as the students prepare for the new school year at Hogwarts everything seems well. Maybe a little too well....

Adrian walked into his classroom like he did every other time, he sat at his desk and propped his feet up on the desk in wait for the students. As they began to file in, he didn't remove his position. He leaned back on his seat a little more and put his hands behind his head.

Writing appeared on the blackboard.

Take out Quills and parchment, remain quiet and respective to those around you.

He was not in a good mood, he needed to be firm with his students this year. No more screwing around.

Adelaide walked into class with a tired expression on her face. She had gotten no sleep the night before and she couldn't hide it due to the bag underneath her eyes. It wasn't that she tried to stay up, but when Adelaide found a good book, she couldn't put it down. Which was why Adelaide didn't truly regret being this tired.

Noticing her professor and her Head of House looking like he was in a foul mood, Adelaide took a seat toward the middle of the class and did what the board instructed. She didn't not want to get in trouble today.

Biting her lip, Evelyn looked around the door frame and saw that there was only one other student there. Sighing, she stepped into the room and looked around, selecting a seat. She felt the prickly air surrounding the professor, and she hoped that it would not subtract from her usual enjoyment of the class. Not that she enjoyed much lately, anyway. Sitting down, she set out parchment and quills as per the instructions on the blackboard and she waited for others to join or for Adrian to begin the class.

Smiling slightly to herself as she walked into class, Jade had a firm belief that this time she may just be able to meet people who didn't make her wish her narcolepsy was still as bad as it used to be. Alright, so maybe she would have to push back her aggravating habit of trying to guess every move people were going to make, but it was fun! Pushing that line of thinking aside however, Jade took her place at one of the desks.

Realising that one of the girls had seemed to have little sleep, jade decided on the course of sitting next to the other girl, and they both happened to be Ravenclaws. Jade was curious as to if the professor would be biased, but paid it no heed for now.

Deciding to be courteous, Jade quickly took out a quill and scrap of parchment, dipped the quill in an inkwell and quickly scribbled 'May I sit?' before taking the place next to the girl. Should she wish to dispute it, she just had to write so on her response and Jade would find a more appropriate place to sit.

Glancing up as another student entered the class and sat beside her, Evelyn smiled and returned her gaze to her desk. The newcomer used ink and parchment to non-verbally ask her to sit, and she smiled again and nodded once. Understanding the girl's reason for writing rather than verbally asking, took her own quill and added her own neat scrawl to the page. What's your name?

Looking up at the professor, she figured that he wouldn't mind communication as long as it was quiet. In fact, he had not forbidden any contact with others, so she decided that even if he did have a problem with it, he had no grounds to be mad at them. Smirking slightly, she kept the quill and re-dipped it before adding ink marks on a clean sheet of her own parchment. She was incredibly bored, internally exhausted and indecently curious as to what had Adrian in such an uncharacteristic bad mood.
